For parents, the image of seeing their child still sucking their thumb past the age of 4 or 5 can be quite disconcerting. Before long, an obsession within finding a way to stop thumb sucking becomes a major issue. Don’t be afraid to try and get your child to stop, but at the same time it’s not the one thing that is going to stop them from making an ultimate success of themselves in the future. For that reason, it’s important that you take the time to talk with your child about thumb sucking and make the stopping process something reciprocal.

You never know where your child is going to go in life, so don’t allow the act of thumb sucking to have you certain that their path to stardom has been curtailed!
